UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST

National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct UGC NET for eligibility for Assistant Professor only or Junior Research Fellowship & Eligibility for Assistant Professor both in December 2018.

NTA has made a change in the mode of conducting the exam.
Previously, UGC NET was conducted in offline mode but from December 2018, the exam will be conducted in online mode. The syllabus, exam pattern and language of the paper will remain same as previous year.




The Test will consist of two papers. All the two papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held on 09 to 23 Dec 2018 in two separate sessions as under :

Paper-I is of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate.  It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

The paper will cover following areas

I. Teaching Aptitude
II  Research Aptitude
III Reading Comprehension
IV Communication
V Reasoning (Including Mathematical)
VI Logical Reasoning
VII Data Interpretation
VIII Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
IX People and Environment
X Higher Education System : Governance, Polity and Administration

50 multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given (All are compulsory ) . 
For each correct response the candidate will get 2 marks. There are no negative marks for incorrect response.  No marks will be given  for unanswered/marked for review questions.
If a question for any reason is found to be incorrect, the benefit of marks will be given to only those candidates who attempted the question.




Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions. Each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.
There are no negative marks for incorrect answers.
Paper-II is based on the subject selected by the candidate.

NTA will conduct NET 2019 in online mode, so it is necessary for the candidate to understand the exam environment. It is important that the candidate should be familiar with the computer-based test. For this candidate can take lots of mock tests.
Students should try to understand the process of online test which will be beneficial for them on the day of the exam. And it will be useful in the practice or revision of the examination.
