UNIVERSITY GRANTS COMMISSION NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST
The UGC NET Test will consist of two papers. All the two papers will consist of only objective type questions and will be held 21 February 2023 to 10 March 2023 in two separate sessions as under:

The questions in Paper I intends to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge

- For each correct response the candidate will get 2 marks.
- There is no negative marking for incorrect response.

- If a question is found to be incorrect/ambiguous during the key challenge, only those candidates who have attempted the question and chosen one of the correct answer would be given the credit.
- Only for dropped question(s), if any, marks will be given to all the candidates.
UGC NET Paper-I is of general nature, intended to assess the teaching/research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

50 multiple choice questions of two marks each will be given (All are compulsory ).
Five questions each carrying 2 marks are to be set from each Module.
UGC NET Paper-II shall consist of 100 objective type compulsory questions. Each carrying 2 marks which will be based on the subject selected by the candidate.
There are no negative marks for incorrect answers.
UGC NET Paper-II is based on the subject selected by the candidate.
NTA will conduct NET in online mode, so it is necessary for the candidate to understand the exam environment. It is important that the candidate should be familiar with the computer-based test. For this candidate can take lots of mock tests.
Students should try to understand the process of online test which will be beneficial for them on the day of the exam. And it will be useful in the practice or revision of the examination.
